Count István Széchenyi (1791-1860)

Count István Széchenyi (1791-1860) Politician, writer and economist. Served as transport minister in the Batthyány government . Hailed as an important figure in Hungarian politics, and one of the creators of a new, modern Hungary, he was responsible for the first bridge across the Danube in Budapest, which still bears his name to this day.
